    The Barbara & David Zalaznick Reading Series concludes with TRANS*forming Literature: a reading & conversation with Ryka Aoki, Helen Boyd, & Ely Shipley. Aoki is a two-time Lambda Award finalist, author of the poetry collection Seasonal Velocities and the novel He Mele a Hilo. Boyd is the author of My Husband Betty and She’s Not the Man I Married, books chronicling contemporary crossdressing culture, relational gender, and her own marriage to a trans woman. Shipley is the author of Boy with Flowers, winner of the Barrow Street Press book prize, the Thom Gunn Award, and a Lambda Award finalist. His latest work, Some Animal, is forthcoming from Nightboat Books.

    At Yoga Farm, we teach meditation for householders—people who live in the world, who have relatioships, jobs, families, houses, and to-do lists.

    In this weekly session, we work with a new Sutra from the book 'The Radiance Sutras' by Lorin Roche. Each Sutra is a beautiful exploration of one of the 'gateways' to meditation.

    From 8-8:15am we read, discuss and explore a Sutra, then we enjoy silent meditation  together until about 8:45. 

    This offering is FREE to the Public.

    Diamond in the Rough Hike-a-thon

    Come join us for the first annual Diamond in the Rough Hike-A-Thon. Hike the Black Diamond Trail to help raise money for science education in our community.

    All proceeds and donations from the hike will be used to promote science education in our community through the programs the Paleontological Research Institution provides in environmental and Earth science--both at the Cayuga Nature Center and at Museum of the Earth.

    The Hike-A-Thon takes place on the beautiful Black Diamond Trail, April 28th, 2018. There are three distances to choose from--5.4 miles, 2.1 miles, and a choose your distance option. The hikes are appropriate for all ages and all hiking abilities. Hikers will end up at the Cayuga Nature Center, and will enjoy free admission, refreshments, a live animal program, live music with Rick Manning and friends, and more.

    Register now and start building your sponsor list. The more money you help raise, the greater chance you have to win some wonderful prizes. Prizes will be awarded to both individual hikers and teams.

    Peter Mack and his groovin' jazz ensemble, "Macktet",  play well known jazz pieces and some original compositions written by members of the quintet.  Headliner, upright acoustic bassist Peter Mack is joined by some of the most talented and experienced jazz musicians in CNY;  guitarist Steve Brown, trumpeter Paul Merrill , Dino Losito on keyboard, Mike Melito on drums, and the incomparable Ralph LaLama on tenor saxaphone from NYC.  "These guys are Cats!"
    Saturday, April 28th at 8pm.  Admission is $12 Adults, $10 Seniors and $8 Students. The performance is funded in part by a Finger Lakes Community Arts Grant.
