 Description: 

This is an introductory class for participants that wish to learn the art and skill of woodworking. During this program participants will learn the basics of creating with wood. From different types of wood and materials, to working with shop tools and equipment to create several different projects. Participants will learn proper operation of various tools such as table and band saws, planer, router, jointer and sanders. They will also be introduced to finishing techniques like painting and staining.

This workshop requires no previous experience. Just the excitement of learning new skills!

Participants will receive complimentary Makerspace Membership to NewMakeIt during the term of the course, allowing additional time to complete projects and hone their new skills.

This program is both classroom and workshop based. Students will need to provide the necessary safety equipment and appropriate dress.

Students should budget for a materials fee of approximately $40.00

Audience: Age: 16+

Dates: Saturdays, Sept. 15, 22 & 29, Oct. 13, 20, 27

Newmarket Resident = $288.15

Non-Resident = $322.05 (approx. $40 materials cost extra)
