I know that you can add custom event categories to the selectable list and also upload your own images to the list (uploaded images).

Is it possible to remove the standard event categories and images, so people can only choose from a custom list?

Yes. Go here: https://localendar.com/docs/display/lc/Custom+Categories , and you will see this tip: "If you only want your categories displayed on the Event Editor, check the "Hide default localendar categories.." box. Again, you do not need to click Save to have this preference recorded.". This way, people only see the Custom Categories you want them to see.

Thank you! Really helpful. That solves my problem with the categories. Is it possible to do something like this with event images ie only have uploaded images in the dropdown list. Alternatively is it possible to hide the option of adding an image to an event?

I have no idea. Support will have to tell you if they can change the dropdown code to show only images.

currently, it's not possible to hide the "add an image to this event" option, or the defauly localendar clip-art library. I'll add it to our user-requested features clue for discussion at an upcoming roadmap meeting.
