I find it a little shifty that there is no easy way to cancel my Premium subscription. I no longer need to use your calendar services and I have just paid for another year of premium and I don't use localendar at all anymore. What does it take to get me removed from annual auto payment? confused

You simply need to sign in to your paypal account and cancel your subscription from there.

Nothing "shifty" going on. In fact, one of the reasons we use PayPal is because of their open-ness and ability to handle payments (and disputes) in an open and forthright manner.

HELLO,

SEVERAL YEARS AGO I SIGNED UP WITH LOCALENDAR AND HAD A PROBLEM SIGNING ON. I SENT EMAILS AND FILLED OUT THE ONLINE FORM FOR TECHNICAL PROBLEMS AND NEVER DID GET A RESPONSE. TO AVOID BEING CHARGE I ALLOWED MY CREDIT CARD TO EXPIRE AND THAT IS HOW I AVOIDED BEING CHARGED FOR A CALENDAR THAT I COULD NEVER ACCESS.

I CREATED ANOTHER CALENDAR WITH A NEW CREDIT CARD WHEN WE LOOKED AT OUR CALENDAR THERE WERE ADS, AND I HAD PAID FOR A SUBSCRIPTION TO AVOID ADS, SO WE TOOK THE CALENDAR LINK OFF OUR WEBSITE AND MADE A PAGE FOR SPECIAL DATES/HOLIDAYS. I WANT TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION THAT IS CHARGED TO MY CREDIT CARD NOT PAYPAL. IF I SEE A CHARGE ON MY CREDIT CARD I WILL DISPUTE IT AND HAVE IT REMOVED AND REFUNDED AND THIS ACTION WILL LOOK NEGATIVE AGAINST YOUR SERVICE AND BE A NOTICE TO THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY ABOUT HOW YOU DO BUSINESS. I HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE PERSON WHO USED THE WORD 'SHIFTY' THUS FAR I HAVE FOUND THAT TRYING TO GET TECHNICAL SUPPORT OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF SERVICE HAS BEEN VERY CUMBERSOME. AND THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER, EVEN A NUMBER WHERE I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CALL. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT HAVE A PHONE CONTACT NUMBER IN THE FUTURE.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

... because you can call up Yahoo or Google whenever you want, right?

We do all of our subscription handling through Paypal. If you search for "cancel subscription" on Paypal, they provide simple step-by-step instructions.

One of the reasons we use PayPal is because this means we don't retain any private billing or personal information for our subscribers. Which is ultimately the safest option we can provide that gives you total control.

We *do not* bill credit cards directly, because (as I said) we do not retain this information. You are free to dispute any charge, however, you'd be disputing it with Paypal.

As for contacting us, we haven't accepted direct email in like... forever. There is a contact form on the localendar web site which has also been there.. forever. And if you *do* send us a mail, you get an auto-response which says you need to use the Contact Form. We have this requirement because plain email is just littered with too much spam.

Meanwhile, we also post constantly on these forums, even though many questions have been asked over and over again and a simple Search would turn up an answer immediately.
