Need to patch a hole or sew on a button? Join us for a drop-in session on basic clothing mending. Bring your worn or damaged garments and give them new life! This is a self-guided, hands-on program—tools, materials, and instructional resources will be provided. Library staff and volunteers will be available to offer assistance and answer questions, but patrons will complete mending themselves. All skill levels welcome! This seasonal lecture by Ron Nicholson features background and rich history about some of the most beloved holiday poems, many of which were turned into songs. From “A Visit from St, Nicholas” to “Good King Wenceslas” and from Longfellow’s “I heard the Bells on Christmas Day” to a lovely Hanukkah poem and “Auld Lang Syne (and some comic relief for good measure), feel free to recite or sing along through this yuletide treat.
