Mrs. Durham was a member of Friendship at Ripley Church and a homemaker.

The family would like to thank hospice nurse, Jennifer Stephens and caregiver, Gwen Taylor.

She is survived by her daughter, Diann (Jeff) Yarbrough, grandson, Will (Brigitte) Yarbrough, great-granddaughters, Ella Yarbrough and Emry Yarbrough, sister, Peggy (Glenn) Patterson, nephew, Charles Durham and niece, Mary Dunnavant.

Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Durham.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1st at Limestone Memorial Gardens with Andy John King and Scott Thackerson officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Besh, Clint Jackson, Mike Raby, Brad Zirbel and John Dunn. Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

Mr. McNeese is survived by his daughters, Christina McNeese, Casey McNeese, and Candia “Candy” McNeese, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother, Heath “Bubba” (Michelle) McNeese, sisters, Brenda Jackson, Tammy Kennedy, Tamaria Day, Tina McWilliams, Sonya Proctor, and Loretta McNeese as well as a host of several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Hester McNeese, brothers, Michael Ray McNeese and Mickey Lynn (Monk) McNeese.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5th at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama. Family will serve as pallbearers. No visitation planned.

It is with both heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Gatha Annette Romine Crowson Beaver on July 23, 2026, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Rehab Center in Florence, Alabama. Born on May 6, 1938, in Limestone County, Alabama, Gatha's life was a testament to love, wisdom, and an ever-present spirit of generosity.

Gatha was the cherished daughter of Bonnie and Ruth Romine. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carey Crowson, whom she married in 1976. In the twilight of her life, she found love once more and married Clyde (Bucky) Beaver in 2023, a union that brought her much joy. 

 A passionate educator and speaker, Gatha was renowned for her insightful lectures and workshops. She had a unique gift for helping others gain self-understanding by generously sharing stories from her own life's journey. Her deep love for God was evident in every aspect of her life, and she inspired countless others to embrace and share that love. 

Gatha is survived by her children: Tim Crowson of Madison, AL; Tom Crowson of Irving, TX; Sari Buchanan and (Tim) of Athens, AL; Toney Crowson (Anna) of Killen, AL; and Terrell Crowson (Clare) of Corinth, MS. She also leaves behind her siblings: Kedrick Romine (Trudy) of Athens, AL; Jimmy Romine (Jane) of Athens, AL; and Marcus Romine (Beth) of Saltillo, MS, along with numerous nieces and nephews. 
She delighted in every moment spent with her 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Known affectionately as the 'Hat Lady,' Gatha had a passion for hats and flowers—a vibrant reflection of her personality and zest for life. In her honor, the family invites everyone attending her memorial service to wear a hat, something Gatha would have truly appreciated. 

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mitchell Hollingsworth for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Gatha during her final weeks. 

A celebration of Gatha's life will be held on September 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Cross Point Church of Christ, located at 1350 Cox Creek Parkway, Florence, AL, where she was a member for many years. 

Her spirit, love, and wisdom will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Janice Dale White Norton age 90 of Athens passed away Saturday at Limestone Health Facility in Athens. Mrs. Norton was born November 11, 1935 in Limestone County, she was a retired accountant and a member of First Christian Church in Athens. She was a graduate of Clements High School. 

Survivors include her Son, Michael (Marti) Norton. Granddaughter, Samantha Norton. Sisters, Glenda Stinnett, Carolyn Hargrove and Diane Johnson. Brothers, Richard White and Steven White. She was preceded in death by her Husband, David Lee Norton. 

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6- 8 pm at Spry Funeral Home. Services 11 am Wednesday at First Christian Church, Athens with Clint Coffey officiating, body will lie in state from 10 am until service time. 

Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brent White, Ronnie Lee White, Ronnie Ray White, Grant White, Randy Townsend, Richard Hodges and Scott Hargrove.

Family request memorial donations to be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

Mr. Uselton was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and retired from Teledyne Wah Chang.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lovell Uselton, children, Donna Kelley, Beverly Simmons (Steve) and DeWayne Uselton (Melanie), grandchildren, Christopher Dennis, Benjamin Dennis, Laura Simmons, Andrew Uselton, and Emily Uselton, nine great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Uselton was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Effie Uselton, sisters, Reba Atchley and Gayle Uselton, and his brothers, Roy Uselton, Benton Uselton, and Wayne Uselton.

There will be a visitation Sunday, September 13th at Spry Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Sunday the 13th beginning at 4:30 p.m. officiated by George Whitten followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery in Athens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Services will be Monday, 2 PM at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Freddy Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery, Visitation will be Monday, 12 Noon until service time.

Mrs. Bolan was a member of the Decatur Baptist Church and a retired Deli Manager at Winn Dixie.

She is survived by her sons, John Taylor Bolan, Jr., John Howell Bolan (Darlene), Warren Raynard Bolan (Patricia), Charles Edward Bolan, and Jimmy Paul Bolan (Scarlet), fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren, brothers, Thomas Ray Henderson, Paul Wesley Henderson, William Lavon Henderson, and John Thomas Henderson and sister, Vicky Lynn Henderson.

Mrs. Bolan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Henderson, husband, John Taylor Bolan, Sr., and her daughter, Regina Faye Johnson.

There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to service time on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Spry Funeral Home of Athens. Services will follow on Wednesday the 16th in the Spry Chapel at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Paul Wesley Henderson and Taylor Lynn Bolan. Interment will be at Madison City Cemetery after services. Grandsons to serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Belue was a member of the Blackburn Road Baptist Church in Athens and retired from Redstone Arsenal.

She is survived by her husband, William Aaron Belue, brother, Frankie Putman (Marilyn), nephews, James Putman and Bradley Putman (Courtney), niece, Lisa Childs (Hayden), two great nephews, one great niece and three great-great nieces.

Mrs. Belue was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Marie Putman and her sister, Dixie Putman Allison.

There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Spry Funeral Home of Athens. Services will be Saturday the 19th at 3:00 p.m. in the Spry Chapel officiated by Ron Byers and Hayden Childs. Interment to follow at Civitan Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Belue, Darrin Belue, Tim Belue, Greg Belue, James Putman and Bradley Putman. Honorary Pallbearers are Randall Byers and Ryan Byers.

Mr. Green was a member and former deacon of Truth Baptist Church and retired from Limestone County.

He is survived by three daughters, Missy Gurno of Athens, Donna Thornton of Athens, and Debbie Hacker of Ardmore, Alabama; three sons, Jimmy Green of Huntsville, Joey Green of Athens, and Kelly Green of Elkmont; sister, Nancy Starn of Alaska; ten grandchildren as well as several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Green and his son, Daniel Green.

There will be a visitation Sunday, September 20th from 12:00 noon until service time at Spry Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Spry Chapel officiated by Donald Terry. Interment to follow at Dement Cemetery.

Mr. Patterson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Athens, a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Monsanto in Decatur.

He is survived by his brother, Terry Patterson of Lester, Alabama as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation Sunday, September 20, 2026 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home of Athens. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 21st in the Spry Chapel officiated by Gary Williams. Interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery in Anderson.

Mrs. Appleton is survived by her daughter, Marie Overmyer (Dale), sons, Paul Appleton (Patsy), Joe Appleton and Danny Appleton (Joan), nine grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, her sister, Sarah Tucker, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phelix Appleton, parents, Buford and Velma Stanford, brother, Huey Stanford, and sister, Lillian Stanford.

There will be a visitation Monday, September 21st from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home of Athens. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday the 21st at Roselawn Cemetery. Family and friends to be pallbearers.

Mrs. Hofacker was a member of the Madison Baptist Church and retired from the U.S. Government.

She is survived by her son, Scott Hofacker and wife, Susan, who was her caretaker for the last several months, stepsons, Mike Hofacker and Chris Hofacker, grandchildren, Lindsey Rockwell, Ericka Diaz, Myles Hofacker, Alicia Barker, Heather Maurer, Wyatt Hofacker, Clayton Hofacker, Faith Payton, and Marshal Hofacker, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her sister, Trisha Kirk.

Mrs. Hofacker was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Hofacker, sister, Lois Shaw and parents, Jake and Olive Nethers.

Graveside services will be Thursday, September 24th, 1:00 p.m. at Frazeysburg Cemetery in Frazeysburg, Ohio.

Mr. McCurry is survived by his wife, Cindy McCurry, daughter, Haley Walter, son, Clint McCurry, grandchildren, Amelia McCurry (Jesse Munoz), Daniel McCurry, and Evelyn Petty, sister, Kathy Anderson and brother, Kim Burrows (Shania) as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ruth McCurry, brothers, Wayne McCurry, Mike McCurry, and Curtis McCurry.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24th in the Spry Chapel. Interment to follow in Athens City Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim Muse, step children, Chad Birdsong and Chasity Birdsong, sisters, Gloria Fergus and Sharon Dollar, brother, Steve Dollar, brother-in-law, Jerry Owens, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dollar was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Betty Dollar, sister, Kathy Owens, and brother, Randy Dollar.

Visitation will be Friday, September 25th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

Services will be Saturday, September 26th in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. officiated by James Turner and Jeremy Williams.
