Rice Peak Work Run 8:30 at the Basha's

The TRR will be doing some repairs on the Rice Peak trail. We are meeting at the Basha's in Catalina @ 8:30.

Bring gloves, shovels, 5 gal buckets (to assist in carrying rocks) and your lunch.

Our work runs consist of an hour or so of work and the rest of the time is spent enjoying the trail.

Run the COW Trail!

Trail Rating: This can be an extremely challenging run (4.5) or relatively simple (3.0) depending on route one chooses.

Length: 2.2 miles

Vehicle requirements: lift, lockers, winch, tow straps

GMRS channel: announced at driver's meeting

The 'COW' name came from Harold Cauthen, Leo O'Campo, Mike Williams who discovered the trail. It's about 20 miles to the trailhead from Basha's. This is an excellent opportunity to attempt challenging obstacles. REVISED TEXT: most obstacles can be approached using different lines rated from 3.5 to 4.5. There are no bypasses. We will run 'down' the wash to start. Time permitting, we will run back up which is much more challenging (4.5). Bring lunch, plenty of water and a desire to improve your off-road driving skills.

First NIGHT RUN of the year! We will meet at 6pm and leave at 6:30pm. 10 minutes to the trailhead. It will be dark. Come prepared to pay close attention to what you're doing.

We will enter the trail just north of Catalina. Trail ends at the Marana I-10 exit. Trail should take no more than 4 hours to run so everyone should still be home on the same day we start. No food needed as we won’t stop for a dinner. Bring snacks and plenty water. Hope to many of you there.
