    Sunday Oct 6
    3 pm - 5 pm

    Stewart Park Large Pavilion
1 James L Gibbs Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850, USA

On Sunday, October 6th from 3 to 5, the Ithaca Area United Jewish Community will host a fall holiday festival for young families. The event will take place at the large pavilion in Stewart Park. October 6th falls in between the Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah (the beginning of the year), and Yom Kippur (the day of repentance). It is also very close to the favorite harvest holiday of Sukkot, which begins on the evening of October 13th. Children and parents will enjoy holiday activities such as learning to blow the traditional ram’s horn or shofar, making decorations for Sukkot, tasting apples and honey and celebrating the “birthday of the world.” In honor of Yom Kippur, there will be a puppet show by Lily Silly, about “saying sorry.” The event is free and open to the public. The Greater Ithaca Art Trail Open Studio Weekends!

    Sunday Oct 6
    11 pm - 5 am

    Individual Artist Studios
    Tompkins County, NY, USA

On October 5, 6 and 12, 13, forty-one artist studios all across Tompkins County will open to the public from 11am to 5pm each day. Now in its 21st season, and with over 5,000 studio visits each year, the Art Trail continues to grow and gain visitor anticipation.

Imagine two beautiful fall foliage weekends. You pile your friends into a car to visit the artists of your choosing. Some studios are in downtown Ithaca, while others are along rural roads with hayfields as neighbors. Some are in cozy living rooms and some spaces are as interesting as the work itself. Chat with the artists, see their work, their materials, and their inspirations. Use this opportunity for your holiday shopping! Connecting with the artists and buying their work is a fun and exhilarating experience.

Explorers will find painters, photographers, sculptors, printmakers, fiber artists, potters, makers of fine furniture, mixed media, digital artists, and a blacksmith. From scraps of paper and shards of glass to an unfinished canvas or the smell of wet clay, an artist’s studio contains countless clues as to what lies beneath an artist’s work.

Visit ArtTrail.com for more information and print out the map/brochure! Or e-mail programs@artspartner.org to get one mailed to you, or find out where you can pick one up. Note: Studios are open year round by appointment and on most First Saturdays of each month.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Broom is a nonprofit performance group based in
Auburn, NY established in October 2018. Our group was inspired by Wolfshagen
Hexenbrut, the German Dancing Witches! We are a group of nonjudgmental,
energetic and creative women who love to make people smile!
We are theatrical dancing ‘witches’. Our group has members from many different
backgrounds and belief systems. We welcome new members who want to have
fun, make friends, network with their peers and express their creativity. Our goal
is to empower women of all abilities, sizes and ages (21+), NO EXPERIENCE
NECESSARY! There is NO cost to members! New members are ALWAYS
    welcome!
Darlene Morabito, our Director/Choreographer has decades of experience
in professional dance study, performance, and teaching. Darlene believes that
anyone and everyone can learn to dance with just a little instruction and
encouragement. Our dance performance pieces are her original choreo. Our
version of Schuttel deinen Speck while close to the Wolfshagen Hexenburt
version, adds our own Sisterhood twist to the original.
Our group loves to participate in community events! We aim to make people
smile, dance along and have fun with us! If you need some whitchiness at your
next event, please contact us! We are happy to provide entertainment for
    charitable causes! All inquiries welcome!

The Museum of the Earth's Fossil Mania! is held at the same time in the year as the National Park Service’s National Fossil Day. This year, the National Park Service is celebrating the Grand Canyon, which has fossils from almost every age on Earth contained in its exposed rock. We are celebrating the rich fossil diversity of New York State with our own poster design challenge.
