How can you tell when a guy is flirting with you? I mean there’s this really hot guy in my group in my home ec class; we knew each other from elementary school, so we were just kinda talking. He cracked a couple of sexual jokes but he wasn’t making eye contact, so I couldn’t tell if he meant them for me or for the group in general (laughs, etc) there was one other girl in our group, also….I mention some of these things because I want a realistic but hopeful answer…one joke was, “I don’t suck, I lick” another was, “people call me elmo, but don’t tickle me, cause I bite” XD… also, at one point I volunteered to do any of the work for the group, he touched my shoulder and said, “i like that”.
Was he flirting with me? if so, I’ll flirt back, but if not …. :(

This guy seems to be uninhibited, forward, extroverted and confident. It takes a fair amount of flair to crack “raunchy” jokes in the midst of a group, with girls. The fact that he cracked these jokes in a group, in which you were present, could indicate that he was trying to send an indirect message, may be to both you girls, that he’s the “flirty” kind.
The good news is that the “flirty” type guys are very open with their approach, the fact that he touched you on the shoulder and gave you a “compliment”, well indicates his interest in you. So go ahead and flirt back if you want, there is no need to be inhibited with this guy, he’ll welcome it.
The “flirty” and “cocky” guys are usually easy to start off a relationship with, simply because they are always inviting. But the problem is that most of these type of guys are usually only good for “short-term” relationships, as they can turn fickle on you soon and start chasing another girl. But you never know until you try, so if you are interested in this guy just go ahead and give him the green signal.
