Restrict 'add' access to members or common login the link to our localendar is embedded in our gallery website. I would like gallery members to be able to add/edit events. The simplest way would be to make the login and password available to only gallery members, however I don't see in the embedded site that there is a login. the other way is through the sharing feature of our premium subscription, but that 1) only talks about viewing the calendar and 2) requires me to add each member to the access list. It seems they would still have to login and I don't know if it does what I want. |

Re: Restrict 'add' access to members or common login How does this method work? I would create accounts for gallery members, allowing them (and only them) to view the public events. Would anyone who clicks the link to our localendar from our website get a username/password prompt? I was hoping all visitors could view the calendar, but only a select number could add events. I would assume they would need to login and enter a password. The other option which requires my approval before an add event is accepted would require that I log in everyday. That's possible but tedious. Are there any other methods to achieve this type of access? |

Re: Restrict 'add' access to members or common login If you want everyone to have view access, but only a few people to have Add access, I would recommend using Merged calendars. For example: You have a "master" calendar which merges in public events from calendars "member1","member2","member3" Your members have their own calendars and credentials to log into them. They add events to their own calendars which are then merged into the master view that your visitors can see. Re: Restrict 'add' access to members or common login What, exactly, are the limits of user calendars that can be merged? I can easily anticipate 500 to 1000 users, each with their own calendar. Thanks |
