Examples of websites using localendar
I'm interested in using localendar, but before I sign up I'd like to visit some websites that use it well. Any recommendations? Thank you.

I don't know if I use it well, but you are welcome to look at my Localendar. Go to www.ottawapark.org, and click on the Calendar link in the header bar. I've used Localendar since January 2015.

Re: Examples of websites using localendar
Here are a few quick examples I grabbed from our analytics report:

http://goldenwestvbc.com (click the calendar icon)
http://edwardsfss.com (calendar is on the main page)
http://mum2mummarket.co.uk (calendar is on the right side of the page; the Today+Happening soon view)
http://www.mcc.mntm.org/ (calendar on main page)
http://www.coolcitydogs.com/ (click "training/event calendar on left menu)
http://crazywisdom.net/ (pinboard calendar on homepage)
http://www.fatharolds.com/calendar.html (example using custom bg image)

Some members do a better job customizing/integrating the calendar than others. It really depends on how much time they put into their site.

How did they get the white background for all pop-ups even though the events themselves reflect their custom category colors?

I tried overriding the Background Color setting on the Edit Event screen. It would preview with my new background color just fine, but clicking Update did not change it on the actual published calendar, or on the My Calendar master.

Re: Examples of websites using localendar
Presently, we do not carry over the category colors of events that come from merged calendars.

So, the colors you are seeing for events are b/c all of their events are merged onto the main calendar and the colors shown are what they have set for each specific merged calendar.

When you click an event and get to its detail pop-up, you get a plain white bg. You could make the case that we should show the merge color here instead of white, but we don't do that either at present ;)

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize that the dog training calendar was a merged one.

I asked, because I like the idea of having the pop-up have a white background. Some of the colors I (and it appears others also) choose for custom categories are fairly bright so that they can be easily distinguished. Unfortunately, those same colors don't contrast well with the black text on pop-ups.
