How to repair calendar link using FTP client
I've just been appointed to a township supervisor's position and we have a link to localendar on our website - which is apparently broken. The calendar displays and the dates update, bet we've been unable to load information on this calendar for years. I've been digging in to this and it looks like our link is either broken or inactive and I've been unable to create and link another (lo)calendar to the site using FTP. Probably because the FTP client is looking for a file and all I have to give it is the link you provide in the publish part of your site. How, pray tell, do I get my calendar linked to our website?

Website: http://www.concordtownshipmi.org/

Calendar: <a href="//localendar.com/public/clerkclark">calendar link</a>

Re: How to repair calendar link using FTP client
The calendar seems to display just fine on this page:
http://www.concordtownshipmi.org/calendar.html

The name of the calendar used on that page is "ct1836"
You create and edit events on the calendar by logging into localendar as that user, and updating events on our site. The changes will appear on your page automatically. You don't need to ftp any files from our site to yours.

Just so I understand - are you looking for the credentials to that account, so that you can add/edit events?

Thank God! I knew it couldn't be that complex!

Yes, yes, yes a thousand times yes! I need the login credentials so I can post to that calendar.

And thank you a million times over!

Re: How to repair calendar link using FTP client
Do you still have access to the email account linked to the calendar?
(hint: *****@j1sweb.com)

Otherwise, we will need to make sure you are authorized to assume ownership of the calendar. Please open a support ticket (use the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page) and we'll complete the process.

In the description please enter a comment like 'change calendar ownership'

Re: How to repair calendar link using FTP client
Marc,

Actually no, I don't. I don't even know who would have had that address. That was probably someone who held the clerk's position at some point in the distant past. Js1web is our current host provider but no one in the township uses (obviously) their email service. I can ask them, but they are not exactly lightspeed at returning messages.

So. I will start the process through your ticket...unless you just want to link the clerkclark calendar (which is the one I'm going to have to get the events from anyways) to our website for me. Judy Clark is our clerk (!) and that is the calendar she's created. She's in her 70's though and has no idea how to make this work.

In any case, thanks much for the help. Taking over a new position is always a pain at times.... BTW: I'm going to subscribe to the webmaster service, will that affect who uses the calendar and how? I read the merge function and think I can work that....

Re: How to repair calendar link using FTP client
Unfortunately, I can't change the calendar on your site to point to a different account, because that's done via the HTML on your side.

You're going to have a make a small change anyway, but we'll work this issue going forward through the support ticket b/c I don't want to discuss any connection info or credentials in this public forum smile

Re: How to repair calendar link using FTP client
OK, I'm good with that. I submitted the ticket yesterday so what is our next step? I have a meeting coming up soon and would like to report to my board that this issue is resolved. Will that be doable?

AND...when I purchase my subscription, will it allow me to keep these calendars, or do I have to start from scratch?

Again, thanks.

Re: How to repair calendar link using FTP client
Marc,

Is anything happening on this? I realize I'm not the only voice crying in your wilderness.....

BTW: if you need to verify my position/credentials, just go to the Concord website I gave you earlier and look at the Board listings. You'll find my name and that email address.

Thanks once again.....!

Al

Re: How to repair calendar link using FTP client
Sorry - I have been watching for this ticket to come in, but I did not see it. Perhaps someone else picked it up and didn't know what to do with it.

You should be all set to log into localendar using the 'ct1836' logon, but the same password you currently use for your 'clerkclark' account (Once you are signed in, you can change the password under Options->Security)

Any changes you make to the ct1836 calendar should appear on your website automagically.

Please let me know if you have any further issues smile
