How do I raise a ticket on a problem?
We are having a problem with our calendar - all formatting is lost from event descriptions when people post events to the calendar (but not when admins use the add event from standard menu).

I'm sure it didn't use to do this so please can the problem be fixed. How do I raise a ticket on this?

Re: How do I raise a ticket on a problem?
You can use the Contact Us link in the page's footer.
But since you've written it here already, there's probably no reason to do that.

So, if I understand correctly, you are saying that if I use the Add Event button at https://localendar.com/public/clogevents to add an event, the formatting is lost (what type of formatting? Bold, colors, etc?)

... but if you, the calendar owner, add an event using the Event Editor, the formatting is saved correctly

(also: no need to cross-post issues to multiple forums; we see everything wink )

Re: How do I raise a ticket on a problem?
The update is:

We are currently stripping out all html on publicly submitted events, b/c there is a security risk that a visitor can submit html to your account that would redirect a user to a malware site or do other "bad things"

The plan is to allow "formatting-related" html to return (bold, italics, images, tables, etc) in the near future.

Re: How do I raise a ticket on a problem?
Thanks very much.

What sort of timescale for bringing back "formatting-related" html to the visitor added events?

Weeks or months?

Thanks for your help. Useful to contact localendar support

Re: How do I raise a ticket on a problem?
We're in the midst of a code-freeze while we migrate localendar architecture to "the cloud" (see other Announcement post in this forum)

Because of this migration, we are temporarily not deploying new changes (except in case of emergency patches). I believe we are going to start rolling out fixes/enhancements late Summer after we have fully moved to the cloud and decommissioned our existing hardware.

Please can we have an update on the timescale for re-introducing formating into publicly submitted events.

This is currently causing a major headache for our club as members's events currently lose all formating including carriage returns and everything is one big paragraph. (In our club, we encourage all members to organise events and put them in the calendar and we don't want everyone to have admin access to the calendar. Before the loss of formatting the localendar worked well for us, but if it is going to be anything other than a temporary issue we may have to look elsewhere for our events calendar.

Actually it looks as if you resolved the loss of formatting issue a couple of weeks ago :-)

I posted here again this morning about it in response to members complaints raised at recent committee meeting but I've now noticed that the issue seems to have been fixed already. Well done! smile
