Wsyncs applet error when trying to export calendar
Hi!

I have a premium personal acccount -- my username is llij.

I'm trying to export my calendar to Outlook (really, I just need a CSV...), but am getting an error message when I launch the Wyncs applet.

Here's what happens:

I click Export
I enter the start and end dates
I click the "Sync Events" button
It displays a window that says "Downloading data file" and then it presents the Web Sync window with a list of my appointments. So far so good.

I click the Synchronize button, and it displays a status window that says "Synchronizing with Outlook, please wait."

About a second later, it throws an error on top of the status window that says, "The end date you entered occurs before the start date" even though the dates I have selected are appropriate. Regardless of what dates I enter on the previous screen, I get the error; I've tried a bunch of date combinations, I even tried selecting just one week.

If I click OK to that error message, the "Synchronizing with Outlook, please wait" window behind it stays up, but no syncrhonization (or export) occurs. (I let it run over my lunch hour just to see...)

I'm using Windows XP/SP2 with IE6/SP2.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Wsyncs applet error when trying to export calendar
Did a little more troubleshooting / investigating on my own, and discovered that the app fails whenever it reaches an appointment that goes past midnight.

Say you have a daily appointment from 2-3pm Monday through Friday, but on that Wednesday you also have an appointment from 10pm - 1:00am. The tool will export Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday day just fine, but it will crash when it gets to Wednesday's nighttime appointment.

All other appointments after that failure point will not export.

You can re-launch the tool for on the next date, and it will import everything until the next overnight appointment.

Hope this helps.

Re: Wsyncs applet error when trying to export calendar
That's a big help as we've heard this issue before but have not been able to duplicate it. We'll follow-up with the Wyncs folks. Thanks!

Hello I was wondering if you have got a fix for this issue. I am having the same problems.

Thanks,

Re: Wsyncs applet error when trying to export calendar
I have handed this issue off to Wyncs a while ago; I will email them now to see what's up. It's been a while since this was reported.

Re: Wsyncs applet error when trying to export calendar
I'd be interested too, since I have a lot of events that wrap over midnight.

I think I responded to this elsewhere... We have received a code fix from Wyncs and are currently putting it through its paces. It does proport to have a fix for this issue.

Do we have any update on this? I just got a premier membership. I have exactly the same issue. However, I made sure that my appointments END at midnight.

But I see that the problem is not just limited to these events, but all the events. I reversed the start and end dates to bypass the date issue. But the Wyncs just hangs. After a while, I can't even close the browser, and I get the error saying page is not responding.

If I can't export the appointments, I will have to think of cancelling the premier membership.

Thanks, Srini

Yep, it's still not fixed. Before when you tried to export if any events wrapped over midnight you'd get the 'End date is before start date' error immediately after hitting the "synchronize" button. Now it will at least attempt to process the rest of the events, but as soon as it gets to the first one that wraps over midnight, you get the error message AND then it just hangs there and doesn't complete. This is definitely not a step in the right direction.

Re: Wsyncs applet error when trying to export calendar
We are still working with the vendor on the latest release of this software. When we have deployed a new version to the main site, we will post a message on this thread (and the announcements forum)
