Mobile Devices I would like to see a page formatted for our phones. I use a Blackberry and I would like to be able to see the calendar on the screen and easily make additions. |

Re: Mobile Devices It is impossible to stuff 10 pounds of candy in a 5lb bag So I am curious if you envision a mobile view just for viewing a calendar (in which case, we already have list views for this purpose) or a full mobile site for editing and maintaining the calendar? As devices have gotten larger, and mobile browsers more capable, the justifications for a dedicated mobile view have diminished. Also keep in mind that localendar's focus is for calendars for webmasters. Understandably, people using the site for individual calendars might benefit from a completely mobile experience - but we have to prioritize this against features that our target market finds most important. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Mobile Devices I don't know what other users are interested in, but I would like to be able to display my calendar on mobile devices -- I'm not interested in being able to update it from the mobile device. I have tried using a list view, but it is still too tiny for a smartphone or other smaller device. I'm just looking for a mode that I could specify on the href line that would make the font larger and accommodate the scrolling needs of a handheld device. Or tell me how I can do that myself. Otherwise, I'll have to export the information periodically and come up with a mobile-friendly way of displaying it. Alice |

Re: Mobile Devices You can definitely use specific CSS on the calendar to change font sizes, etc. You could even merge 1 calendar into another and have different CSS overrides for each. Say, have a calendar called "stpaulvp" where you enter all your events, and another called "stpaulvp_mobile" which merges those events in, but has some custom CSS to format it a little better for mobile (note: stpaulvp_mobile would need at least Premium Basic subscription) I'd help set up a demo of this for you, but I need to know what you mean by the list view being "too tiny". What is the screen-res of the device you are using? I would think "too big" would be the problem and not "too small". ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Mobile Devices Can you use specific CSS so that on a mobile device the calendar displays at a width of lets say 300 rather than the 900 on a desktop? |

Re: Mobile Devices There are special CSS hooks for mobile, but various calendar views should also respond nicely on mobile: http://localendar.com/docs/display/lc/Custom+Calendar+CSS I also recommend setting different calendar view styles for mobile vs desktop (for example, block view for desktop, list-view for mobile) http://localendar.com/docs/display/lc/Making+your+calendar+responsive ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
