Okay, I browsed the wish list a bit and I noticed that people have been asking for mobile support every now and then, and Localendar's support hinted at some developments towards HTML5. What I would like is something a bit different. Something I would be ready to pay for. The possibility to create a mobile app out of any calendar. In a nutshell, I would like to tell my iPad/Android users to "download the new Acme app" from the market. The Acme app being a iOS/Android application that integrates with my calendar so nicely that it can navigate through the calendar and display the event infos in a seamless and cool fashion. I see two ways this can happen. 1) Localendar has a iOS/Android developer in house that can develop a generic app. This app will be then customized for each (paying) customer. 2) The calendar data can be easily exported into a standard format and we do the app creation thing ourselves. Now I prefer option 1. :) ciao! |

This is an interesting idea. However, a specific mobile app for every calendar user is probably a lot more work than we could handle (don't forget, it has to go through the Apple store too) Which is why an HTML5/mobile friendly solution is something we've looked at. Do you think your users require a native experience? We've thought about auto-detecting mobile users and defaulting them to this view. Another option is a generic iOS/Android app that you could use to display a particular calendar (once you supply the name). In this case, your story would be something like "Download the localendar app and tell enter "sagre" for the calendar name. Your thoughts? ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

I LOVE the idea of a downloadable mobile app and users just have to supply the calendar name! |

Yes. We've been playing with a few mobile frameworks (appcelerator Titanium, easyshare, jquery Mobile, etc) in an effort to try and find a solution that will work cross-device and also not require too much effort from our Dev teams. All I can say at this point is that we're still working on a solution Some of the calendar view styles already display nicely on mobile devices. About 27% of our traffic comes from tablets and 12% from mobile. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Thanks support. Can you be specific which styles will work best. I can get the full page in browser-mode, but it is very small and hard to use. Thanks |
