I merged my google calendar perfectly, but now can't make editing changes to the items merged from Google. If I click on a google items it won't come up in the editor. Any suggestions

That is correct; you cannot edit items from a merged iCal calendar.
Otherwise, if the item was changed on the source system, which version should be shown?

If you import events from a *file* rather than a url, we do have plans to let you edit certain information (with the understanding that you can drift out of sync or ave duplicates if you re-import the file again)
