I maintain an extensive calendar of events for my community. I like using the features of uploading events from a CSV file since it helps me type up the info much more quickly and upload everything at once. However, this method is limited since you can only upload the following fields: subject start date start time end date end time all day event description private I would very much like to be able to upload to the "Location" field. And if possible also upload repeating event info within the CSV. Is there any way to do this? Perhaps upload a spreadsheet to another calendar program (google, yahoo etc) and THEN import from that calendar? Can anyone offer some suggestions? Thank you so much! |

We should add location, but mostly likely will never add "repeating" information to the csv upload (it's just too complicated to represent all the possible types of repeating events in a cell). I'll ping the developers with your request. Until we support location, if you do find that you can upload the data you want to Google or Yahoo, then we can definitely import that calendar back into localendar via iCal (also on the Import tab) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Hi, I'm still seeking suggestions on the fastest way to import events or confirmation that I'm importing in the fastest way possible. For example, I will often have a dozen events to input at one time. I like typing them up on a spreadsheet to cut down on time. Using the localendar add event form takes a lot more time when adding the same number of events. The only thing I've come up with is to type up a spreadsheet into a CSV and then use the Outlook 2003 CSV update feature. Is there another way? The Outlook 2003 feature doesn't allow me to type in all the event detail and I end up having to manually update the location and category for the uploaded events. Could I use a spreadsheet to upload to a different calendar and then upload to localendar? |

The xls->CSV is currently the fastest route. We are looking at expanding the CSV import to include additional fields. Regarding: "The Outlook 2003 feature doesn't allow me to type in all the event detail " There is a place for "Description" in the CSV. Have you looked at the sample file?
