I am having problems with the Ical feed button at the bottom of the monthly calendar. When we press on the ICAL feed button, it downloads only that day's events, rather than all the events for that month. The calendar is on http://newcovfellowship.com/calendar-6/ and it appears to only do it when saving to my andriod or my friend's iphone, but not outlook express's calendar on my laptop. Any ideas on how to resolve this? |

The ical feed actually downloads *all* of the events on your calendar, not just today's and not just the months. If you were to save the file locally and open it up in a text editor, you would see all your events are in there, along with the ical-notation for how and when they repeat. Now, what a third-party program actually does with that feed is out of our control. If you are having a problem syncing an iCal feed to your phone's calendar, you will probably have to search Google and see how their calendar is configured to handle imports. My understanding is that the Android calendar is basically the same calendar Google has online, and that *will* sync all events (forever). There might be some settings you need to change. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Thanks for the info. It is doing it with both my Android and Google Calendar, my client's Iphone, using Ical, and my laptop using Outlook Express. There are missing entries and there are dates that are wrong. For example, I entered an event for Oct. 4 and 5, but it shows up on my Outlook Express calendar and Oct. 5 and 6. In addition, when I downloaded the file to notepad, the dates were changed to Oct. 5 and 6, so that seems to indicate a problem with Localendar, rather than our calendar's feeds. Any insight? The website is http://newcovfellowship.com/calendar-6/, if you'd like to try it out. BTW, I changed my username, thus the reason I am replying using this name. Thanks for any help you can give. I really liked the calendar app a lot, so I'm hoping we can resolve the issues with the feeds. |

Perhaps you can give me examples from your calendar about events that are missing, and which have "incorrect" times. I should mention that there are some irregularities with how different sites interpret iCal, and we have chosen to adher to Google's conventions as closely as possible. I looked at one sample event from your calendar:
Note the DTSTART and DTEND. That is how you would represent an event that takes All Day on the 24th of Aug. And I see it representing on your calendar that way as well. I could not find an Oct 4+5 event on your calendar (at least, not in a single event) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Thanks again for looking at this. The event begins Oct. 3 and ends Oct. 4th, as shown on our calendar: http://newcovfellowship.com/calendar-6/. However, when I press the ICAL feed, it displays it as a one day event, but for Oct. 5... rather than Oct. 3 or Oct. 4. When I entered the event, I entered the start date as Friday, October 3 and asked it to repeat the event until Saturday, October 4. It shows up correctly under the website's calendar, but the ICAL feed changes the date as a one day event for Oct. 5. Here is the ICAL feed: BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTAMP:20140828T014450Z SUMMARY:2014 Fall Festival at NCF DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20141005 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20141006 RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;UNTIL=20141004;BYDAY=SU,MO,TU,WE,TH,FR,SA DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our annual fall festival\, to be held at the grounds of New Covenant Fellowship on Friday\, Oct. 3\, and Saturday\, Oc t. 4. We will have our annual pig pickin' meal on Saturday\, Oct. 4\, wit h activities all day for the whole family. LOCATION:2510 West Courthouse Road\, Crewe\, VA 23930 UID:20140923T065412Z-1@ELSIE-CT3 END:VEVENT In addition: the following events are not appearing when clicking on the ICAL feed: Sunday, September 7 - Fellowship Meal after the service Thursday, October 16 - Missions Meeting |

Hmm.. I see different text in the feed when I look at it. For the Oct 4th event, I see this:
It is odd that the DTStart and DTEnd dates you posted do not look like the raw feed I posted above. Did you edit them manually, or are you using some other program to inspect the feed? You can also see from the dates I posted above that it goes from Oct 3 to Oct 4, as shown on your calendar. The 9/7 event is there:
as is the Oct 16 one:
