Edit this Post   Dates of multi-day events off by one day in rss feed Reply to this Post

I just noticed that multi-day events are off by one day in the rss feed.

This bug affects only repeating events. For example I have a repeating All day event from 27th March to 2nd April and a single day event on 2nd April. In the feed the repeating event is listed wrongly from 28th March to 3rd April, but the one day event is listed correctly on 2nd April.

This bug is consistent, I have another event scheduled from 21 August 2015, All day event, repeating every day until 24 August 2015. In the feed, this event appears from 22nd to 25th August 2015.

I am based in the UK, but if the timezone was the issue it would likely also affect single day events.

The feed I use in my calendar (OS X Calendar 8.0) is:

I think you mean the ical feed (which is the link you posted) and not the RSS.
I checked the RSS feed for March at http://www.localendar.com/public/autevents?style=M3&start_date=3/1/15 and it appears correct.

Now that we've got that figured out wink - I see exactly the issue you are talking about and I will log an issue on it.. please stay tuned.

(Update: I believe a patch for this will be going out shortly) iCal is a bit picky at times.

Yes, you are correct I meant the iCal feed. Sorry for this mistaken description.

I assume you are testing a patch now as the situation seems to have improved but is not yet fully fixed. The 27 March to 2 April event appears now correctly in Calendar, but the event 21-24 August appears in Calendar with an extra day as 20-24 and the event scheduled for 10-12 September also appears with an extra day in Calendar as 9-12.

Yeah, apparently we didn't get that bug 100% (strange that it worked for some dates and not others)

Another patch is going out tonight; fingers crossed this will fix all issues with repeating all-day events in the iCal export.

Your latest patch seems to have done the trick.

Thank you.
