Technically, they are linked to Google and not copied over. If you edited them at localendar, they would be disconnected from any changes you made on your Google calendar. This is also noted on the ics file upload page: "Uploaded events are treated as external feeds and are not updateable within localendar." On a more technical note (if you are interested) one of the main reasons we don't allow editing of imported iCal events is because iCal is an extremely flexible format, and all the other web calendar providers out there choose different ways to support it. This is especially true in the case of what is known as the Recurrence Rule section of an iCal event. So for example, an external calendar might let you construct a strange recurrence rule like "Every day in January for 3 years" (RRULE:FREQ=DAILY;UNTIL=20180131T090000Z;BYMONTH=1) We don't have a way to create that in the localendar interface, because we've decided something like that is an edge case and the complexity of supporting something like it isn't worth the confusing interface we'll have to put in front of the majority of our users. But as soon as we open ourselves up to allowing the editing of iCal events, we have to allow some method to maintain rules like that. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
