Marc:
BUT, in all three browsers, when changing the month, the 'Show All' row disappears completely! It will only come back if I close my website and reopen it. And then checking a category actually REMOVES the item from the calendar itself. So please change the code back to whatever it was before you made the change until you can fix this. Even if the event select/unselect does not work, at least my users will have the ability to see the categories at the bottom of the screen. we cannot go backwards, only forwards! I think we are closer, though there is still a wrinkle on the legend width on some phones ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

The cross-domain browser restriction in Apple.... They blocked this because of Google using it for their advertising. http://www.mendoweb.be/blog/internet-explorer-safari-third-party-cookie-problem/ I've been working with Matt in support on this as well. Please watch these two videos. One of an iPhone6 iOS8.3 not working https://youtu.be/E2FsLQeeVz0 One of Win7 Firefox working https://youtu.be/InikKbsZuhM (the video says Chrome but its actually Firefox) ...having WWW or not in the url doesn't matter. I typically don't use iFrames because of Apple. They are really hard to scroll in the page on an iPad if the iFrame is taller than the main page. In fact, sometimes, it doesn't work at tall - you have to make the parent page as tall as the iFrame content. I also have the problem where categories disappear from being able to be selected in the dropdown on the event page. Recently, Firefox didn't show any and Chrome showed them all. I've embedded javascript in the calendar title and added my own buttons with hard-coded dates and used the window.name to store my team parameter. So far, its working just fine in all browsers and all devices I've tried. http://lbsl.org/cal5.html?BAC Still trying to get it to work when embedded within another page. Thanks Daryl |

Here is what I have running so far, all on a Windows 7 computer: 1. the responsive iframe on www.friendsofottawapark.org. Go to the Calendar tab. The basic functions [selecting a few categories, and have them maintained as you switch between months, as well as having the category check marks work correctly) works fine on Firefox, Pale Moon, and IE 11. On Chrome, if you check only a few categories, and change months, all the categories show. 2. The 'fully interactive embedded calender' on www.ottawapark.org. Go to the Calendar tab {same Localendar on both websites}. Right now (1:15 AM EDT on 5/11) the switching between months works just fine, and retains what you set. 1 hour ago it did not. Works fine in Firefox, Pale Moon and IE 11. Same problem in Chrome as noted above. The 'Show All and Individual categories still work opposite to what they should. I noted two other problems with the responsive iframe: 1. You place a physical 'box' around the calendar which has the same width as the rectangle I create, but the actual calendar is about 50 pixels smaller, so I have to create a wider rectangle in order to get all my categories on one line than I do for the embedded calendar, which has no added rectangle. 2. The height of your physical 'box' is about 1550 pixels, whereas my rectangle is only 1000 pixels high. That means your 'box' {and its background} overlaps what I have below the calendar. I don't mind the calendar overlapping (and it sometimes does with my embedded calendar), but there is no reason for the box to. So is there some way to eliminate your 'box', and just display the basic calendar itself? I use iframes for other programs, and they don't seem to create such a 'box'. I know this is turning into a major problem for you, and I can only empathize, and report what I am finding. This type of category issue with different browsers existed as long ago as last year. Removing the WWW (then) fixed some things, but categories would still disappear or get stuck. I could only edit categories using some browsers and use the embedded/dynamic/non-iFrame/script calendar with some browsers. I am fully committed to localendar and I want to use the embedded/dynamic/non-iFrame/script version in all of my websites (multiple localendar accounts). BTW: I can't really use the category checkboxes which Harry mentioned, because I have way too many defined - it just isn't practical for end-users (too many checking and unchecking). I created this alternate method (for us) as a work-around until the final solution can be devised and put in place by localendar. Localendar has been great at responding to this issue and enhancing their product as per client requests. Actually, this is the only issue I've ever encountered with their offering. |

And just to follow up, we've also been working a support ticket with lbsl "behind the scenes". I think we are making progress and hopefully we're close to wrapping this one up. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

I assume you mean the iOS problem, and/or the embedded calendar. That is great. You have spend a lot of time on this problem. But I still have the following questions about the responsive iframe you just introduced, as repeated from my earlier post. 1. You place a physical 'box' around the calendar which has the same width as the rectangle I create, but the actual calendar is about 50 pixels smaller, so I have to create a wider rectangle in order to get all my categories on one line than I do for the embedded calendar, which has no 'box'. I believe the 20px (each side) border around the calendar was for formatting issues across various browsers (and mobile devices) That said, the calendar itself is just in an iframe, and you should be able to include your own CSS in the calendar title to eliminate the margin if desired. This should get you close (in your calendar's title field) <style>body {margin:0;padding:0;}</style> ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

The addition of {margin:0;padding:0;} works fine. You can see the results at www.friendsofottawapark.org , and clicking on the ‘Calendar’ tab. [To see lots of event entries, go to February 2015 ] But there are still some problems. 1. The height of the Responsive iframe calendar obviously gets larger for months that have lots of events. But the background does not get smaller after moving to a month with fewer events, unless you do a Refresh. This is very easy to see with the light gray background. Go to February 2015. You will see a tall calendar. Now go to October 2015. The background extends far below the bottom of the actual calendar. Do a Refresh, and that extra height goes away. What causes this, and can it be fixed? 2. Even with the light gray background, you can see a black border around the calendar. Adding border:0 to the Title field does not remove the border. Neither does adding border-color:white, or border-color:transparent. This is not created by the rectangle I use to create my iframe, because I changed its color to white, and it disappeared. Also, my iframe has a height of 1000 pixels, and February 2015 displays a height of about 1150 pixels. Any idea how to eliminate this border? It is not so obvious with the light gray background, but with a white background (which I prefer) it is distracting. The border only seems to appear on the Responsive iframe. 3. Sometimes vertical and horizontal calendar scrollbars appear, and other times for the same month they do not. Why is this? 4. You will note that the calendar displays the RSS Link/iCal icon in the lower right corner. I attempted to remove that by adding the ‘rss_link=N’ command to the URL. But then when I tried to open the calendar, I would get a Localendar error message like this: ‘Unusual traffic which appears to be a violation of our Terms of Service’. That prevented me from opening Localendar on ANY of my websites. After waiting the 10+ minutes, making changes, getting the message again, etc., it seemed to be caused by the addition of the ‘rss_link=N’ command to the URL. What code do I need to eliminate the RSS Link/iCal icon? Thanks, Harry |
