It appears that within the last few days you have changed all the font types on Localendar, and/or made them Bold.

My Custom Events no longer fit on one line, but now take up part of a 2nd. The Title and Date are larger and appear to be Bold in addition. The font on the Event Popup has changed such that the lines are longer, resulting in some words at the end of the line being dropped.

This problem happens no matter which of my calendars I open, and no matter whether they are imbedded on my website or opened on your site directly.

It also happens on multiple computers. In fact today when I booted up one and opened Localender, it opened with the old font and immediately changed to the new one.

Please fix this and go back to the old font, or tell us how we can change back to the old font. I cannot find any information that tells the user how to change the fonts.

This is an update to my previous post.

Please fix this and go back to the old font, or tell us how we can change back to the old font. I cannot find any information that tells the user how to change the fonts.

I found some info on Changing the default text style on this page:
https://localendar.com/docs/display/lc/Other+Ways+to+Customize+an+Event+Title
and on this page:
https://localendar.com/docs/display/lc/Custom+Calendar+CSS

From experimentation, it appears that the previous font was Arial. .m-usr changes the names of the events that one enters on the month view. .mt--usr changes the Calendar Title. But I can't find anything that changes the Date header, the Custom Events names, the Popup text, etc., etc.

It is clear from this that you have made a change on all the entries from Arial to ???. So please change everything back to Arial.

Yes, we are in the midst of making some changes to the typography on localendar to bring the site into the 21st century smile

And in some cases (the Event Editor comes to mind) we have increased the font size slightly for better readability. We've also added the option to make calendar blocks "square" on the month-views btw (under Options->General...Show More)

But it was not our intention to break existing layouts. We've done a lot of testing, but (as you can imagine) we also have a lot of calendars out there.

Can you give me an example of where the format breaks for you so we can have a look?

Not everything in the 21st century is better than the 20th. biggrin

I am not using the square blocks.

Go to my primary calendar:
http://localendar.com/public/OPwebmaster?rss_link=false
EVERYTHING here seems to have been 'improved'. The Title, the month text below the Title (i.e., September 2016), the text on the event entries, the text on the popups for those entries, the text for the Custom Events (which because of the change I now have one entry on a 2nd row, which I don't want), etc.

If you go to the week or day view, the Title still uses your original font.

If you go to a test calendar I have:
http://localendar.com/public/HMWlotest1?rss_link=false
and go to December 2014 and January 2015 (I don't use this calendar much), You will see that I have changed the Title and the entry text in the month view to Arial. But the entry text for the week and day views have NOT changed. And your original title font must not have been Arial, because the month view title does not match the week and day title font.

Not all the changes are bad. The dates, and the 'day-week-month' boxes are much easier to read than before. And I agree that the new entry text is more readable than the old, but the font you chose takes more horizontal space, so sometimes the text wraps around to an extra line, making the calendar taller. I can live with the text in the popups.

So I would like the above listed problems revert back to the original font and font size (whatever they are) if you don't mind, or tell me how to change each one myself.

And it would have been appreciated if when you advised us about the square box option change, you would have let us know about these other changes.

Hi Harry,

A couple quick things:
First, we did make this change in a way that lets us move towards user-selectable fonts (which is something that will make its way under Options->Colors in the near future)

Also, (just as a side opinion) - I think the calendar looks awesome now :) You might also notice we tightened up the legend near the bottom, removed the gray border around the "Week" link on the month-view, removed Day underlines, and made some other changes.

We can make adjustments to the current font to make it smaller, narrower, etc, so regarding this item:

EVERYTHING here seems to have been 'improved'. The Title, the month text below the Title (i.e., September 2016), the text on the event entries, the text on the popups for those entries, the text for the Custom Events (which because of the change I now have one entry on a 2nd row, which I don't want), etc.

Can you give me a specific event/date that is now multiple lines and wasn't before? This can't be the case for every event on the calendar, because some of them have very long titles.

Meanwhile, I will get you the CSS to use to switch back to Arial before the new Theme editor changes if you wish

Marc:

Providing user selectable fonts in the future sounds great. I assume this will let the user change ALL the places where text is displayed, including Custom event entries and popups.

side options: I agree most of those look fine. (I'm too old to use 'awesome'.)

Here is what I need you to fix for me, by moving back to the previous font type, until the selectable font option is available:
1. The Custom event entries at the bottom of the calendar. Per the two URL's I sent, you see that these now wrap to a 2nd line, whereas previously all 8 fit on one line. All the entries need to fit within the 850px width of the calendar (my website software is not recursive.)
2. The Title on the Month View. Based on the code I added yesterday to make the title an Arial font in
http://localendar.com/public/HMWlotest1?rss_link=false
if you look at the Week or Day view, I don't think this was an Arial font previously.
3. The month right below the Title (i.e., September 2016).

I was able to change the Event names to Arial using .m-usr coding.

So I think that is all I need until the user-selectable fonts are available.

Thanks for all your help on this.

Can you send the page where you've embedded the calendar?
I am assuming that if I can look at it there, this will all make sense. B/c if I look at the direct calendar link you sent, there is no wrapping (even if I shrink my browser window)

Paste this into your calendar title (under Options->General) and it should reset most of the fonts to Arial:

<style>.merged-usr,.category-usr,.m-usr,.mt-usr,.yt-usr,.mm-usr,.w-usr,.wt-usr,.d-usr,.dr-usr,.dj-usr,.d-timeofday-usr,.d-dayofweek-usr,.dj_weekday-usr, .mj-usr,.d2-header-usr,.dj_weekend-usr,.dj_weekday-usr, .dj_diffmonth-usr, .w-date-usr, .list-daylabel-usr, .list-event-desc-usr, .d2-date-usr, .list-event-title-usr, .dayname-abbr-usr {font-family:Arial}</style>

That is really strange. I tried the direct link on Chrome, Firefox, and IE 11. If the width of the calendar is less than around 1000px, the Custom event entries at the bottom of the screen wrap.

Here is where the calendar is located on my website:
http://www.ottawapark.org/calendar-ottawa-park-toledo.html

I have NOT done the Paste you suggested in your Sept. 29 4:44 PM post. I would like to confirm that you can duplicate my problem first.

Ah, I see what you mean about the legend (is that it?)

You can change just that font back to Arial with:

<style>.merged-usr,.category-usr{font-family:Arial}</style>
