Among the changes you made to the design of Localendar recently, is a change to the popup window which I do not understand.

Look at http://www.ottawapark.org/reference/images/Localendar_PopupChanges.png

The top screenshot is what your old popup window looked like. Note the small amount of unused open space between my Ice Rink map link text and the Export: line (red vertical arrow).

Now look at the bottom screenshot. The unused vertical space is now 3 times as large (~125 px vs. ~45 px). This is just wasted space, especially today when folks view Localendar on smaller and smaller screens.

What does it take to reduce this unused vertical space back to what it was before? If a Localendar user wants more vertical open space, he can easily create it with Carriage Returns.

In my testing, I noticed that you had some extra linebreaks at the bottom of the event you took the screenshot of.

The other extra breaks are because you are using a "common event description" - and the breaks are used to set that off (even though you are only using it to include a <script> tag - localendar can't tell!)

I think we can remove 1 linebreak, but as I look at it, I still don't see the amount of extra space in your pic.

Yes, there is one linebreak added after the "Click here for Ice Rink on Google Maps" line.

You are correct. I wanted to change the width of the popup slightly, so found this on one of your earlier answers regarding how to do it, and it said to place it in the 'common event description':
<script>self.resizeTo(600,575)</script>

Why would that not only add linebreaks, but also the horizontal line?
Is there some other way to change the size of the popup without adding this extra space?
And what is the default size of the popup?

The 'resizeTo' is all I added. When I removed it (and it is removed now), the popup looks identical (with regard to vertical spacing) to the 'old' Localendar screenshot.

So you're set?
The resize script changed the window size, true, but it also added a couple extra linebreaks (the <hr> has always been there)

Not quite. From my previous post:

1. Is there some other way to change the size of the popup WiTHOUT adding this extra space and horizontal line?
2. What is the default size of the popup?

The only way would be to add the resize script to each individual event (when viewing the event as HTML) which would be a little cumbersome, I think.

The default size of the window is currently: 400x510px

I guess I will try to live with the default 400x510--at least until you change it biggrin .
