This message is to make our members aware of an intermittent availability problem that affected localendar on Tuesday, March 22. This would have manifested itself in a couple of ways:
The outage was the result of a database backup that failed to indicate it had completed successfully. We apologize for any inconvenience our members suffered during this period. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by support at Mar 23, 2005, 11:32:48 AM] |

Thank you for informing your members about this. We really appreciate it. We hadn't realized how quickly we had become dependent upon this fabulous calendar. I was fielding complaints about it all day. Hope it doesn't happen again. Claudia |

Yeah, for us it just so happened on the day I was presenting the features of the new calendar on our website. Ouch! The forum was also down so I was really freaking. |

Unfortunately as the second major outage in 5 months, and despite the fact that I'll lose the money I paid for the service, I have to move on to something more reliable. The very first question I asked when I signed up was how much downtime to expect ... evidently the infrastructure isn't as solid as I was lead to believe. Again... very unfortunate.. Oh and wouldn't you know it.. I've got hundreds of entries in my calendar, and of course, the export feature doesn't work. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. |

Sorry to hear you're leaving.. even Yahoo and Google have their outages. I only wish we had their resources. We try and do our best, (giving most features away for free!). But you can't please everyone. I've just successfully tested both the Wyncs export and the old CSV export (http://www.localendar.com/elsie?JSP=Export) I suppose it's easier to post a cynical comment rather than ask for help ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

I sent 3 support requests on the 22nd and they all bounced back to me as undeliverable after 24 hours had passed... and since I couldn't get into my calendar, I also couldn't get into this forum to find out what was up either. So you can take a thwap at me for not asking for help but your track record hasn't been too good this last week. By the way, Google never has 36 hours of downtime. An hour here, an hour there... while annoying, wouldn't run me off right away. Two downtimes in five months that were considerable in length aren't just annoying, they represent a money loss as well for my client, and a time loss for me. After working with the sync program for over an hour I figured out it wasn't going to let me download the whole calendar, I could only get it to work in 1 month chunks. I thought you might like to know that it has problems. I didn't expect help, because your support system so far hasn't worked for me. But you are quick to answer negative comments in your forum, I'll give you that. |

I love the calendar and so does the client. Problem is, after this outage, we cannot get the site to publish to the site. Is there a remedy for this? It updates when logged in...but does not appear to be updated otherwise. Is there another path to the updated files? Thanks Chris |

I don't think your problem is outage related... Since you created your account at www.a1calendars.com (a cobranded partner site of localendar.com) your public link is a little bit different: http://www.localendar.com/public/a1calendars/mbhbuzz Perhaps the Publish Wizard doesn't generate the right link for calendars from cobranders.. Have to check into that... ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
