wondering if localendar can be converted to 'ical' format for integrating with a google calendar...?

On the roadmap :-)

so I asked before and never saw a response... does on the roadmap mean a month or a year or what???

right now if I could get the correct colors on the Google calendar I'd start using it now since it would save me from having to datafill the calendar.. i have a group of friends who created a google calendar (I couldn't get them to use mine) so now I have to either synch them up or just use the google calendar... if Ical is in the near near future I'll just wait if it's going to be a while I'll continue my plan of finding a new solution that can use the google calendar data as soon as possible.

love localendar but it's too much work for me to keep it up todate with teh events of teh area so the people who have kept it up to date have spoken and I lost :-(

hopefully it'll work out and ical will be working soon so I can display the google calendar info through localendar.

Thanks
John

Somewhere between a month and a year biggrin

Seriously though - we are rolling out 3 major changes in the next few weeks, and after that we'll be working on knocking out a few quick enhancements like iCal import/export.

I can't comment on specific timelines because there are a lot of different issues in the queue (both technical and otherwise).

Some stuff has come up that is taking high priority at least through the end of August.

We are currently using the .ical file for extracting events from our calendar. Unfortunately it take 5-10 seconds to download it so we only do it once per day. Is there any way to limit the extraction with a start_date? That would solve a lot of problems on this side.

Unfortunately, no - because of how the iCal format works.
For example, you can set up an event that have "repeating" settings and re-occurs for years, and we have to do a certain amount of math (even if you specified a start/end window) to determine if any of the repeating events fall into that range.

One option is to purge old events from your calendar when no longer needed (which you can do under Options->Events (Clear Calendar Events)
