Just checking to see if I have this right ---

We maintain a school district calendar on localendar. Once I enter all of the school year's district calendar activities, I want to export the calendar and import it into my Palm. Easy, right?

From what I read, I may only want to do this once, in order to avoid duplication of events. For example, if I wanted to export to my Palm monthly, in order to get all of the additional events posted (sports schedules, for example), all of the school year events already exported to my Palm would be repeated? So a monthly export throughout the school year would mean that I'd end up with 9 duplications for each district calendar entry by the end of the school year? i.e., on Thanksgiving, for example, my Palm would say NO SCHOOL, NO SCHOOL, NO SCHOOL, NO SCHOOL, NO SCHOOL, NO SCHOOL, NO SCHOOL, NO SCHOOL, NO SCHOOL (one incident per monthly import from localendar)?

This is what I'm understanding (and lamenting) from what I've read in the forum, i.e. there's an export/import feature for Palms, but no synchronization. If this is the case, then I'd need to get our district yearly calendar all up on localendar and do a single, yearly export to a Palm, to avoid lists of duplicate entries in my Palm.

Do I get the gist of how it works, or is there better news than what I think I'm hearing? Thanks for your reply.

You are correct, which is why (unlike other calendar sites) we explicity label this functionality Import and Export. It is not Synchronization, though some would argue (incorrectly) that it is.

We may investigate more robust palm sync options in the future, but there's a lot on our "wish list" plate at the moment.
