Edit this Post   iCal Merge issue with all day events Reply to this Post

I have noticed that all of the events that are all day events are displaying on the calendar the day following the event.
Example:
My holidays & closing iCal shows our office to be closed on Monday, January 16th for MLK Jr day. However, on the localendar, it shows as being on January 17th. The time zones are the same (Central) on both iCal and Localendar.
How do I fix this problem?

I have also noticed that though the timed events display properly on the calendar, when you click on them, the time is incorrect on the pop-out window.
How can I fix this?

Both of these issues should be fixed with a release later tonight. We are also removing the caching of imported ical feeds. Updates made on the source system should appear immediately after the next time you refresh your calendar.

Great! That update seemed to fix the issue of incorrect timing, however now I am noticing that my calendar is only displaying one event per day on days when I have several different events listed on my iCal.

How can we get this issue resolved?

Can I ask a question? On the days when you are only seeing a single event, are the other events displayed actually being pulled in from a different iCal calendar?

Our iCal export will only export events entered into localendar, not ones imported from merged calendars, or imported iCal calendars.

The issue is: I have 3 iCal feeds being merged into my localendar. There are some days that only display one or two events, though there may be 3 or 4. They are all coming in from those 3 ical calendars.

Example:
January 24th the three events should be as follows
2 (QuickBooks and Accounting/Recordkeeing) from the iCal feed - CE Classes
1 (Start Smart Biz Plan) from the iCal feed - SBDC Classes

The two from the CE Classes feed display, but the one from the SBDC Classes feed does not.

In addition to this issue,
I have noticed that some events are still displaying on the pop-out window as a different time (an hour behind) even though they are on the same calendar feed as ones that are displaying correctly.

All events should be updated immediately; there should not be any caching. That said, I added your 3 feeds to my calendar and saw all the events (and confirmed what you saw w/ one event missing on the 24th)

So I deleted all your imported feeds and re-added them to your calendar. And I am seeing all the events on the 24th. I also clicked on every event on Jan and confirmed that the pop-up times match the calendar times.

Can you report what you are seeing on your side? Meanwhile, I will look and see if anything could still have been cached on our servers.

All events are now being displayed, though there are some that are displaying at the wrong time. On my iCal, I show an event from 5:30 - 9:30, though on the imported localendar feed, it displays as 4:30 - 8:30.

Yes, the pop-ups match what is on the calendar, but what is on the calendar is wrong and does not match what was created on my iCal.

Example: March 13 - Both classes are being shown as starting and ending an hour earlier than what they are on my iCal.

The How to Start a Small Business is a recurring event from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. every 2nd Tuesday. It displays correctly in February, but is shown in March (and every successive month) as starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 12:00 p.m.

If it is an automatically recurring event, how can this be?

My suspicion is that DST is somehow responsible. If the event is automatically recurring, some instances will fall within DST, and others wont.

In 2012, DST begins Sunday, March 11, 2012, 2:00am, which lines up with your report.

We'll have to do some more investigation into our code as well as how your iCal feed is coming across.
