SUMMARY:Conserve energy with local weatherization programs
DESCRIPTION:Community Action Partnership of Northwest Montana has several p
rograms:  The Weatherization Program helps reduce the high cost of energy
for low-income households. We install a combination of energy saving measu
res such as wall\, attic and floor insulation\, decrease the amount of air
infiltration from doors and windows and perform efficiency and safety che
cks on heating systems.  In some cases we have reduced a home’s energy use
up to 19%. Energy Conservation Community Action Partnership of Northwest
Montana has an extensive Client Education Program. It begins with the init
ial audit and ends at the final inspection. Our contractors are also invol
ved in the education process. We feel client education is a very important
component of our program. It involves the people in a household making in
formed changes of their own to help reduce the cost of energy bills. If yo
u are on Fuel Assistance and heat with natural gas or electricity\, you ma
y be eligible for weatherization because your utility company contributes
to the program to help their customers. Please contact the Weatherization
Office to see if you qualify for this special assistance. Call (406) 752-5
