<p><span style='font-size: 10pt;'>FREE-- Join Robert Hughes, Town of Huntington Historian, and Toby Kissam, local historian and former President of the Huntington Historical Society, for a talk on the rich history of milling in Huntington. From flour and cloth to paper and lumber, the town&rsquo;s mills have played a vital role since European settlement in the 17th century. The presentation will spotlight the Lefferts Tide Mill, built in 1794 in Lloyd Harbor, a rare, well-preserved example of pre-industrial American craftsmanship recognized by the National Park Service in 1975.**Your Suffolk County's 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence book will be stamped at the lecture.**<br />#250th</span></p><br/>Location: Cold Spring Harbor Library]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Family Earth Day]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[(Sat, 25 Apr 2026 10 am - 4 pm EST)
<p>&nbsp;FREE family friendly event festivities will include environmental awareness, hands-on learning, and outdoor fun. Presented in partnership with Reworld, 1653 Foundation, Huntington Hospital Northwell Health, and the Huntington Chamber of Commerce, the celebration promises something for everyone.</p>  <p>Families can look forward to a lively lineup of activities including a marine touch tank, animal exhibits, composting demonstrations, seed planting, beekeeping demonstrations, arts and crafts, face painting, live music, and pet adoptions. Guests can also take home free tree saplings (while supplies last) and explore interactive exhibits hosted by various Town departments.</p>  <p>In addition to the festivities, residents can take advantage of convenient on-site services:</p>  <ul>  <li><strong>Free drive-thru paper shredding</strong>&nbsp;(up to two banker boxes per person), courtesy of Storage Quarters Record Management<br /><br /></li>  <li><strong>E-waste recycling and pill disposal</strong>, provided by the Suffolk County Second Precinct, Police Department</li>  </ul><br/>Location: Elwood Park]]></description>
