    District A16 Effective Speaking

Our 2025-2026 Effective Speaking Contest is Saturday March 28th at Trinity United Church in Newmarket. We welcome many Lions clubs to sponsor students from their local schools.
The contest consists of three grade divisions within the English and French categories.
Please read the attached Effective Speaking Contest Rules and Entry Form to provide you the full details.
Our District winners will proceed to the MD'A' competition in St Catharines on Saturday May 2nd.
We need approximately $6000. This pays all the expenses of the A16  competition including  prize money as well as  the MD'A' cost of meals for a parent and contestant and one night accomodation. Each district will be responsible  to pay MD'A'  for prize money and facility costs.

We presently have just over $2000, donated this year to Youth Opportunity.
