It uses the collective strength and knowledge of the public to collect, analyze, and use data to answer environmental and public health questions. Projects answer wide-ranging questions, can engage the public in any or all steps of the scientific process, and operate using varying models ranging from community-led to institutionally driven.
One System, Many Needs: Scaling Water Quality Data Management Without Compromising Local Needs

How do you balance developing a central data management system while creating the space for individual water monitoring programs to develop unique, adapted systems that reflect their project’s scientific goals? CitSci’s mission is to support the data management needs of community and volunteer led scientific efforts. Founded in 2007, CitSci.org has worked with 1,000+ participatory science programs – helping project teams manage and visualize their data. This webinar will examine lessons learned, approaches to leveraging a global data system to help local, state, and regional water quality monitoring programs, and share best practices.

Register Here
