Please be sure to wear clothing that you can get messy or ruin.  We will be doing an activity at the end of the orientation with bleach.  As always closed toed shoes are required in the shop

The $50 Fee for this class is paid for when signing up as a member.

Come learn the basics to the equipment in our Welding Shop. Such as; welding and hand held plasma cutting and more.

Come learn the basics of how to use our Laser Cutters. Learn what it takes to create a computer file for cutting and etching, how to prepare the file with the lasering software, and how to operate the Laser Cutters.

Annual Members Meeting (On-Site and Zoom)

This is Bridgewire's Annual Members Meeting.  We need at least a 1/4 of our members to attend or provide a proxy to get a quorum.  So please make the time to attend.  Come socialize and enjoy good food and drinks.  Members are encouraged to participate, ask questions, and make suggestions.

The officers will review our accomplishments for the last year.

We plan to nominate members for the 2 board director seats open.  Each seat is a commitment for a 2 year term.  Director and officer job descriptions are posted at Bridgewire.

General CNC Fabrication

This class is designed to be a general class in how to use the software and CNC machines at Bridgewire.

Software you will learn:

  • Graphic software: VCarvePro or CorelDRAW.
  • Gcode software: VCarvePro or Fusion360
  • Controller software: Mach4

Machines you will learn to use:

  • Large CNC GreenBull 5'x10' wood router
  • Small CNC Sherline metal mill

3D CAD - Fusion360 (Basic Modeling)

Eric Bradford (a mechanical engineer with 30 years of CAD experience) will be teaching a 1 day class in Fusion360 CAD.  This class covers the basics to make a 3D CAD model that you can 3D print or CNC mill.  We will not cover assemblies, drawings, or advanced surfacing techniques.

You MUST email me at ericbradford.pe@gmail.com to schedule this class.  I will not teach unless I have at least 2 students.  Maximum is 4 students.  We have computers and 24' monitors that you can use.  Many people bring their own computer.  Please make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements for Fusion360 to run effectively.

All students must download the software onto their computer and establish an account at autodesk before class with this link.  https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal

Membership: Is not required for this class

FEE: $80 non-member,  $60 member
