The Compassion Games is a two week initiative cr eated by Compassionate Atlanta to encourage residents of the metro area to volunteer to make our communities safer\, kinder\, more just\, and better places to live. While participating in the Concluding Ceremony\, visito rs to the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum will be able to visit for free the exhibition “PEACE: What Does It Mean To You?”. The exhibition fea tures the multi-media art project by photographer John Noltner A Peace of My Mind along with several interactive features that allow visitors to exp lore the meaning of peace: globally\, locally\, and personally. The exhib ition is on display through October 5. Free admission to the Breman Muse um on September 21\, has been provided by One Region Atlanta. A social action program of midtown Atlanta’ s The Temple\, Project Tolerance seeks to illuminate contemporary times th rough the lens of history\, suggesting lines between the past and the pres ent\, while asking audiences to draw their own conclusions. Facilitated an d directed by Mira Hirsch\, Project Tolerance is created and performed by teenage actors. The performance engages audiences with a short-scene forma t which incorporates various theatrical styles and tones. Each scene is de signed to provoke thought and spark discussion\, leaving conflicts unresol ved and suggesting analogies which audiences must draw for themselves. H4H needs volunteers from the interfaith community to help make Ms. Williams' dream of being a homeowner come true . A certified nurse assistant for over eight years\, when she isn’t workin g\, Ms. Williams enjoys church activities and spending time with her famil y. She is eager to have her own home. She wants a legacy for her family. H aving a home of her own will also help keep her family together. She will be there to assist in the build. The interfaith build day is Sunday\, Se ptember 8. An additional work day is available for Saturday\, August 10. SIGN UP ONLINE: http://fama.atlantahabitat.volunteerhub.com/ All volunteer s must register online individually and be at least 16 years old. Each vol unteer will complete our Release and Waiver form during the registration p rocess. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 must print their Release and Waiver form and bring it to the build site with a parent or guardian signature.
