In the historic Athenaeum Art Gallery, Continua will share some of their music and members will talk about their experiences providing comfort and support to those facing the end of life. Continua is a group of volunteer singers who offer bedside sings for patients and their families in private homes, nursing homes, hospitals, and rehabilitation center settings. Continua music includes a large repertoire of songs from many traditions sung by 4-6 singers in unaccompanied three or four-part harmony. Women Owning Woods Vermont invites you to learn to be safe with a chainsaw! This course is designed to introduce the safe handling of a chainsaw, as well as boost the confidence level of anyone who has very little or no experience with a saw. Topics covered: parts of a chainsaw, safety, bucking (cutting an already felled tree), and basic maintenance. Participants should bring a helmet with a face shield, eye and ear protection, or chaps if they have them. Otherwise, these will be provided during the class. Also bring lunch, water, and snacks for the day. This is a hands-on full-day course and is an excellent foundation for someone who may go on to attend the Game of Logging Levels 1 through 4 training.
