Tropic Trivia continues to be a very popular event! This team effort fuses fun with brain boosting trivia challenges. Don’t miss out on your team’s opportunity to participate. This class is designed for those with limited experience in couples dancing. This instruction will also highlight the difference between Ballroom Waltz and Couples Waltz. In Ballroom Waltz dancing the man and the woman learn the basic steps and the man leads with the woman following.

Couples Pattern Waltz is a sequence of steps that both the man and woman learn and the pattern is then repeated throughout the dance. Each pattern consists of 6 steps. Simple dances may have 6 patterns, more complex dances can have as many as 16 or more patterns. Couples Pattern Waltz requires a partner.

DATE: Sundays, March 1 - April 26 (sales dates: 2/3-2/13). NO CLASS ON 3/29.

He choreographed Bring Me Sunshine a line dance that has been taught throughout the world including large line dance events. Joe attends workshops throughout the year where he takes classes from national and international choreographers to learn current new dances and techniques. This class welcomes those with dance experience and would like to learn more complex dances. This instruction will also highlight the difference between Ballroom Waltz and Couples Waltz.In Ballroom Waltz dancing, the man and the woman learn the basic steps and the man leads with the woman following.

Couples Pattern Waltz is a sequence of steps that both the man and woman learn and the pattern is then repeated throughout the dance. Each pattern consists of 6 steps. Simple dances may have 6 patterns, more complex dances can have as many as 16 or more patterns. Couples Pattern Waltz requires a partner.

DATE: Thursdays, March 5 - April 30 (sales dates: 2/3-2/13). No class on 4/2.

Tour Ocala’s horse country and get an insider’s view. The Horse Farm Tour includes close interaction with the horses and the people who handle them. During the drive between stops, learn about the history, fun facts about Ocala’s horses, and points of interest. There is 20 to 30 minutes of walking at each farm. It is suggested to wear closed-toed shoes for this trip. Please do not bring any treats, carrots or apples. After the farm, we will stop at the World Equestrian Center for lunch on your own. You will have 2 ½ hours to explore freely.

Joe Spencer started teaching Line dance in 1991 western New York. In 1993 Joe appeared with his dancers on national television on TNN's The Wild Horse Saloon Show in Nashville, TN. He has led three performing groups, hundreds of demos including the N.Y State Fair and Six Flags Amusement Park and dozens of parades winning over twenty awards. He choreographed Bring Me Sunshine a line dance that has been taught throughout the world including large line dance events. Joe attends workshops throughout the year where he takes classes from national and international choreographers to learn current new dances and techniques. Beginner class recommendations: Previous Absolute Beginner experience recommended. This class will be an expansion of what you learned in Absolute Beginner class including steps, counts, terminology, and dance moves or styling. He has led three performing groups, hundreds of demos including the N.Y State Fair and Six Flags Amusement Park and dozens of parades winning over twenty awards. He choreographed Bring Me Sunshine a line dance that has been taught throughout the world including large line dance events. Joe attends workshops throughout the year where he takes classes from national and international choreographers to learn current new dances and techniques. Beginner class recommendations: Previous Absolute Beginner experience recommended. This class will be an expansion of what you learned in Absolute Beginner class including steps, counts, terminology, and dance moves or styling. He has led three performing groups, hundreds of demos including the N.Y State Fair and Six Flags Amusement Park and dozens of parades winning over twenty awards. He choreographed Bring Me Sunshine a line dance that has been taught throughout the world including large line dance events. Joe attends workshops throughout the year where he takes classes from national and international choreographers to learn current new dances and techniques. Absolute Beginner class. This is where you start. If you have never line danced before or not in a long time, this is the class to learn the basic steps and terminology of line dancing. Once you feel confident with the basics, the next level up is Beginner level. (This class progresses throughout the 10 months from September-June into Beginner level)

This class is scheduled weekly on Mondays 2:30-3:30pm, March 2 through April 27, 2026 (no class 3/30)
Cost: $25 per person for an 8-week class (Includes practice sessions on Wednesdays)
Ticket Sales: 2/3 - 2/13. One ticket per person.
Dance badges may be picked up in the Recreation office the day after ticket sales have ended until the day before class starts.

His hilarious show has been presented in Branson, Missouri, for 29 years, and he was a featured comedian on shows with Jim Stafford, The Presleys, Moe Bandy, Pam Tillis, and Pierce Arrow. After leaving Branson, Harley was a full-time comedian at The Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the longest-running clean comedy theater in America. Harley does not call on audience members to come on stage or embarrass anyone at his show. It’s just good clean fun!
