 YHA hostel trip to Castleton, Peak DistrictTrip to Castleton in the Peak District, staying five nights in the YHA hostel there. We will be in a converted mews stables attached to the larger Victorian Gothic mansion and have exclusive hire for our group. The hostel is based in 27 acres of grounds on the edge of the Peak District National Park, with many varied walks on hills and moorland. Mam Tor is nearby with its interesting walks and climbs. Castleton is a picturesque village surrounding Peveril Castle, with a choice of pubs and restaurants. There are also a number of caverns to explore, including the Blue John cavern where the jewellery stone is mined. We have booked accommodation for 20 members in shared rooms. The cost will include food for breakfasts and packed lunches, although the main house does provide cooked breakfasts and food at additional cost if wanted. Booking will open in early 2026. The nearest train station, Hope (Derbyshire), is around two miles away. A local bus passes through the village.
