Importing calendar from Outlook 2010 I have looked through the posts and the instructions are always the same - Go to Outlook in calendar view, File/Save Calendar (Save As is not an option but it saves an ics file) then import 2007/2010 and select the file. Every time it says "This appears not to be a valid ics file" which leaves me a bit stuck!..... Any pointers? |

Re: Importing calendar from Outlook 2010 The first is always to check if it is in fact a valid ics file. Try a public resource like: http://severinghaus.org/projects/icv/ If they say it's OK, you should be able to upload it. Open a support ticket (under Contact us) and we'll reply back and ask you to attach your export. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Importing calendar from Outlook 2010 Thanks for the link. Yes it seems to fail to parse it as a valid file. I believe it is associated with having entries across multiple lines, a bug noted on the website you gave. The offending line (personal data blanked) is: 33: ATTENDEE;CN="xxxxxxx,xxxxx(xxxx)";RSVP=TRUE;PARTSTAT=ACCEPTED;X-MS- 34: OLK-RESPTIME=20130523T110900Z:mailto:xxx.xxx@xxx.xxx.xxx Is this enough to be going on with, is there a known fix, do you want the whole file and a service request? |

Re: Importing calendar from Outlook 2010 We try and avoid accommodating files that aren't valid ics. Sometimes it's not even possible to fix the mess another app is creating. The bug-fix is the responsibility of the site that creates it. I'm willing to pass it along to the dev team for consideration anyway, and yet we would need the whole file. You'd have to open a ticket first to kick this off. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Importing calendar from Outlook 2010 OK, thanks. The file was from Outlook 2010 itself rather than any 3rd party app so I'm not sure I will get any joy out of Microsoft . If I get time I will raise a ticket. |

Re: Importing calendar from Outlook 2010 I'm having the same problems with Outlook 7 imports. I validated the file, but I get the same error. I've opened a support ticket, but the form says I likely won't get a response, since it isn't an install issue. Not sure what to do.

Re: Importing calendar from Outlook 2010 If you want to open a ticket here we'll have a look at some of these files. ![]() ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
