Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality We have some fairly sophisticated repeat functionality. Better than most (all?) of our competitors I dare say. You can have events repeat the 2nd and last Wednesday and Thursday of each Month, for example. Or repeat every other Saturday. Or repeat Monthly on the 15th, but move to a Friday when that date falls on a weekend. Etc, etc. And while you can repeat an event "for the next 3 days", we've never exactly made it easy for you ![]() Under the "This event repeats" section of the Event Editor, there's now a simple option for saying "Repeat this event until the date above". That's it. Click this setting and pick a date on the calendar, and the event will repeat up until that day. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality I tried the repeat function and really liked it. I had to stop using it though because when I change the contents of the event it also repeats. I run a district calendar for seven Masonic Lodges. The meeting times are always the same but the meeting content will always vary. You should allow the option of entering different content but repeating the header. This would make life easier for editing. My page: http://www.localendar.com/public/dist18 |

Re: Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality My friend, I will make your life easier now, just because I can. While looking at an event, you will notice some buttons used to do various functions. One of them is SAVE AS COPY.... "Save as copy" allows for some very easy content copying. Set up your basic event once, save it. Then update it with a new date, new content about what the meeting agenda is, and click "save as copy" You can do it over and over.... Re: Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality The default for the repeat function is a year away. It messes me up a lot when I am repeating something for a week. I wish the year default was the current date. |

Re: Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality Unfortunately, there is probably not one correct default that will work for every user. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality I've tried the repeat function and it repeated forever and ever. I had put in the date September 23 2010 to repeat to Septembet the 26, 2010 and it repeated on and on and on. What is the fix for this please |

Re: Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality You'd have to provide me with the title of the event you entered on your calendar so I could take a look and see what options you selected for it. Then I could help you with your question. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Re: Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality Is there a way to edit a single event that is within a repeating series? I have an event that occurs weekly, but some of the information for the event is different on a few of the meeting dates. I have used the delete date function to omit some dates, but there are dates I just want to update the specific date, not change the entire series. Currently I do this by saving as a copy, then eliminating the repeat function for the copy and edit the event. This seems like an extra unnecessary step. http://www.troop97newcity.org/calendar.html |

Re: Announcing: Easier "Repeat" functionality You are using our current solution. I would enter the different date as a "skip date" in the original repeating event, and then enter the "unique" occurrence as it's own standalone event. We are investigating "Edit just this occurrence" functionality for a future version. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
