Hello, I am getting a :
message whenever I try to import into localender. Do you know what the problem can be? Thanks! |

I take it you are able to display the "Import Calendar Data" page itself with no issues and the error message you report is displayed after you click "upload file"? If possible, would you mind pasting the first several lines from that file into this thread? Also, what version of Outlook are you using? ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

This is correct.
Doesnt look pretty, but here it is: Subject,Start Date,Start Time,End Date,End Time,All Day Event,Description "FALSE ""Labor Day""",9/3/2007,8:00 AM,9/3/2007,8:00 AM,TRUE,School Holiday - No School "FALSE ""First Day of School""",9/5/2007,7:56 AM,9/5/2007,3:03 PM,FALSE,7:56 a.m. - 3:03 p.m. "FALSE ""Periods 1 - 6 will meet""",9/5/2007,8:00 AM,9/5/2007,3:00 PM,TRUE, "FALSE ""Periods 1 - 6 will meet""",9/6/2007,8:00 AM,9/6/2007,3:00 PM,TRUE,
We are using excel and saving as a .csv. |

I think the problem could be that excel adds quotes when you save as a .csv. The field: FALSE "Labor Day" becomes: "FALSE ""Labor Day"" Is there some way to avoid this when saving from excel? |

The format is also not quite correct. Please see http://www.localendar.com/sample.csv for the correct format. FALSE "Labor Day" should be two fields, not one. The fields are not in the same order as the corresponding header row. The multiple quotes will be an issue. Each field should be quoted, but not multiple times. This only seems to happen for the first field - but if you do have 2 items in the first column mistakenly, that might be the cause. I'm a little concerned that Excel doesn't seem to be using quite the same CSV format as Outlook, but the first item to worry about is the FALSE "Labor Day" combination ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
