I have a situation where another person is stealing my efforts. I populated a calendar full of events and they have, using frontpage, duplicated all the events I had listed and then published a frontpage version of the calendar on their website, without ads, essentially stealing the format of localcalendar and using it on their website. I know this to be true since I have spoken to the person who did it. Do I have any recourse with local calendar preventing them from doing this? |

Unfortunately, while this is unethical, there isn't much technically we can do to stop it. It would be the same if you went to Yahoo or Google and copied their HTML and called it your own. Once it's publicly accessible in a browser, it's open for theft of one kind or another. Even if you put some javascript controls in place, someone could just do a screen print. You can try contacting the webmaster and asking them not to do this. If they do not agree, I would suggest contacting their hosting company and reporting their content theft. ![]() ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
