I can't find info on what exactly this means. Sounds like a really great feature but where are the events published? Where do I go to search events in my area, where my Localendar events are also shown? |

The events flagged as 'published' are included in our searchable "local event" index (that's the "local" in "localendar" ![]() You can search for events in your area by clicking Search on the left nav menu, or using the Search for Local Events form in the upper left of the localendar homepage ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Sounds great but doesn't work for me. I've tried searching from both places you mentioned, and did it with both Firefox and IE. Here's the story: I searched for events within 90 mins of 91307 where MY published events are located. Took 55 seconds(!) to load the search results page, but no results appeared, just the restaurant, movies, etc. choices at the top. Nothing below that in the right large window. Clicked on Bars & Clubs and immediately got the Oops page. Repeated steps above several times, making different Event type choices each time. Always wound up at Oops! For fun I then searched on 90210 (GOTTA be events there!) and found no events, always winding up at Oops! after selecting any choice icon at the top of the page. Please tell me how I'm screwing this up! |

I suspect there may be so many events that the request may be timing out.. I got the same results you did. Let me do a little more testing. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

It worked for me twice today! Looked great! But then the 3rd and 4th times I searched I got zero results like before. I searched in the same zip code each time, too! |

Most databases will cache a query... so sometimes when you ask for some data, although the browser may time out before the results can be displayed, the query still completes anyway. The next time you ask for the same results, the data is cached (from the previous attempt), so you actually see what you would have expected the first time. In any event: for localendar users/visitors, it needs to work correctly every time, so we're changing some parameters on our side to make sure that's exactly what happens. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

Still not working for me. Times out after one minute with no results displayed. Clearing cache makes no difference. Same thing happens regardless of whether I select 30, 60 or 90 mins. Tested for 91307 where I know there are public events posted (mine). Funny. I'd think this would be considered an important feature. It has great potential. |

It is important to us.. but we have to be extremely careful making database changes with so many member's calendars in there. I would rather see members receive uninterrupted service than visitors to localendar temporarily unable to search for events (actually, I'd rather see both work, but that goes without saying ![]() ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
