I don't see them anymore, I subscribed...but I've just implemented google ads myself, and realised you might not have seen the referral program. It's called referral, but it really allows you to choose what ad categories you want displayed, as opposed to the regular one which displays ads based on the content of the page it's embedded in. I think someone had a problem with a girl scout troop's page generating porno site ads...(naughty scouts, they sell more than thin mints) Using the referral system in adsense, you can choose categories which are less likely to contain objective material. If you make just one skyscraper set, 120 x 600 like on the side of the big monthly view (from what I remember) you can maybe provide an alternative code/callout for those with weak stomachs. It only takes a few minutes to choose categories and setup a list. I have no idea how long it would take to set up a new ilayer call... You'd still want to leave the default calendar call so "content" oriented ads are displayed for those who don't care... Just a thought... thanks, later ---------------------------------------- Peer-Support Specialist |

Unfortunately, you may find that w/o using the content-based ads, click revenue is greatly reduced. We used a category-based scheme for years (even before Google) and the CTR was absolutely horrible. We've been using a 3rd party site which provides recommended filters for sites serving non-family-friendly ads, which has provided some relief. Google's support for filtering objectionable ads seems to vary in relationship to their stock price. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
