I know the system can do reminders but it looks like they need to be initiated by the administrator. I have seen other systems where anyone can enter their e-mail and they get a reminder for an event. Is that possible here?

Correct. Presently, we do not allow visitors to sign up for event reminders. We do however let them export events to their personal calendar program (Google, Yahoo, Outlook, iCal) if they want to add it to their private schedule.

You state that the reminders have to be initiated by an administrator. Can you answer a few other questions about the reminders, ie
1. Is there a limit of how many email addresses can be entered for reminders?
2. Do I have to add the email address for each event or is there a global event reminder. I have a full year of events added and now the church wants to add everyone that signs up to be added for reminders. It would be great if anyone that wanted a reminder could go in and setup their own reminder. Do you plan to add that feature or is it part of a premium service now?

My recommendation is that you create a group at a site like Yahoo! Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com)

That will let you have a single email address that will broadcast to all of the group's members (no matter how many there are). And, you can edit (add/delete) members from the group at any time from Yahoo. So add the group's email address to your localendar events, and you can control who will receive the reminders by managing the group membership over @ Yahoo.

Alas, you will have to add this email address by editing your existing events individually. You can set a default for reminder emails under Options, but this won't effect events that have already been created.
