The final Peripatetics sessions of 2024.  All abilities welcome at Betchworth (8) from 1030 to 1200, and Buckland (6) from 1400 to 1530.

Lunch will provisionally be at The Red Lion in Betchworth - this will be confirmed nearer the time.

The 1st Tuesday of every month is the Surrey Association Open 10 & 12 Bell Practice, held at Croydon Minster. This practice is designed to cater for those wanting to build up their experience of ringing on Higher Numbers. Rounds on 12, Plain Hunt on 9/11 are always featured. Grandsire & Stedman Caters is also common. If numbers permit we also ring Cinques.   

Meet at West Door for 8pm.

Parking available outside the Church, plenty of Bus/Tram access from East & West Croydon stations, closest tram stops are Church Street and Reeves Corner 

Individual and group practice of basic ringing skills. Use of individual simulator workstation. Note: places are limited to the number of simulator workstations available. Please bring £2:00 to support the bells and simulator maintenance. Contact the SD Master for information on attending.

Once ringers have mastered the Plain Hunt exercise. The next step is to start Plain Hunting to methods. Students at this course will have an aim of being able to Plain Hunt to Methods where the order of the bells is not something they know beforehand. Therefore, this course should also improve the student's ropesight. Once the students can execute this competently, the step to ringing methods inside will be significantly reduced.

Methods on the course will be tailored to the students. Grandsire Doubles, Plain Bob Doubles and Plain Bob Minor will all be featured by default. 

The course will be taught by Fraser Storie, local Croydon & Addington ringer at Beddington.  All students will be sent pre-course homework & advice, along with (if possible) a Zoom session to walk through the homework with the students - and to answer any queries before the course. Refreshments will be provided!

Southern District 'Surprise Major' (on 10 this month) Practice (2nd Saturday of the month). This month we are visiting Bletchingley and so will concentrate on 10 bells. We will ring Stedman Caters, and Little Bob and Cambridge Royal. 

All welcome but please let Noel Gibbin know if you are planning on attending.
