'ART' Listening Skills Workshop

A full day workshop that will help you:
- Develop listening skills
- Develop rhythm
- Rely less on looking
- Leading to better striking
A short theory session and three practical sessions:
- Simulator and listening
- Listen and strike
- Rhythm development
- Various exercises on simulators, tower bells and in the classroom
Practical 1 - You will develop your listening skills using various exercises on a simulator and in a classroom situation.
Practical 2 - You will perform exercises on tower bells to improve your listening skills whilst ringing. Includes the identification of uneven ringing, and how to correct inaccuracies.
Practical 3 - You will use familiar exercises in a repetitive manner, in order to develop your feeling of the rhythm and to improve your performance over the course of the session.
Designed for any ringer who would like to improve their striking.
Places limited to 12 students and 8 helpers. Cost £10 for Students, Helpers free. There is a local cost of £5 for refreshments and a light lunch, all payable on the day.

Advanced 6 bell practice ('DFP')

This month's practice is at Horley.
The core methods rung by the group are: Cambridge, London, Norwich, Bourne, and Carlisle Surprise Minor; and Plain Bob, Little Bob, Double Oxford, and St Clements Minor.
This month we will be focusing on touches of Cambridge and Norwich Surprise Minor, and plain courses of Carlisle Surprise Minor.
We will also be splicing the Plain Minor core methods.
Southern District Surprise Major Practice

2nd Saturday of the month Southern District Surprise Major practice at Bletchingley. Methods rung: Standard 8 and spliced, plus Cambridge Royal if we have enough - we normally do. All welcome. Northern District Surprise Major Practice

These practices are for those that would like to extend their Surprise Major repertoire. The practices range from Cambridge through the standard 8 and beyond.
Who are they for? Anyone who can already ring Surprise Major, or Surprise Minor and would like to extend this to Major, or aspiring Surprise ringers who are competent at Kent or Double Norwich and know the line for Cambridge.
