The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale will be during the library’s normal hours of operation and until noon on Sept. 13 at Brookville Library. Both libraries will be accepting book and DVD donations. We do not accept dictionaries, textbooks, magazines, or damaged items. Laurel Library dates: Sept. 8-10. Brookville Library dates: Sept. 10-13.

Celebrate National Teddy Bear Day (September 9) by dropping off a stuffed animal friend for a sleepover at the library! You never know what kind of magic and wonder your stuffed animal friends will discover! The Chicken Festival and Fry Off is a very popular event that includes a Fry Off contest ofr individuals and regional restaurants. The pride of having your name on the trophy is huge. The Chicken Festival includes chicken dinners for sale, vendors, food trucks, celebrity appearances (THE Colonel!), live music, and activities for families.

This is a self-guided, hands-on program—tools, materials, and instructional resources will be provided. Library staff and volunteers will be available to offer assistance and answer questions, but patrons will complete mending themselves. All skill levels welcome!
