If you don't need to allow visitors to click to the next month, I prefer the static view. This view will always display just the amount of space if needs on your page, and no more. So if a month has a lot of events, the calendar will be big, otherwise it will be small.

The "fully interactive embedded calendar" requires an HTML iframe, which cannot be auto-sized to a specific height. So you need to make the height of the iframe big enough to accommodate the largest possible calendar size. And if a month doesn't have a lot of events, then there might be some wasted space at the bottom.

That's what I was referring to when I discussed the layout. But it's really only a matter of changing 2 lines of HTML to switch between the different views (and localendar's Publish Wizard generates it automatically) so I'd encourage you to look at both versions and see which you like best.
