Re: Help! Events on my calendar are defaulting to black ground seekye, You created a custom category called "Birthdays" and set the color to be black. You then created your Aug 24 event and added it to the "Birthdays" category (hence, it's black) You should either edit the Birthdays category and change the background color to something else, or update the Aug 24 event and remove it from the Birthdays category. As a reminder, you can access the Custom Categories page by clicking the Add Event button (or editing an existing event) and clicking the "Edit Categories" link by the Category drop-down.
