Re: Possibility to hide certain category's We don't currently have a way to hide categories. Would I would recommend is using merged calendars. Put the "special events" on 1 calendar, and merge that calendar onto your "master" calendar. On the homepage, you show the master calendar which contains the special events. On the sidebar, you just publish the special events calendar.
