Re: Searching by specific data fields (Categories, location, title/description) and other questions! Let's see: 1) Right now, searches automatically examine the event title and description. We think a simple search meets most requirements. If we added an advance search, what features would you like to see? I believe the underscore(_) can be used as a wildcard for 1 character, and percent-sign(%) for a variable-length string. 2) Local searches currently cannot be restricted to a single calendar. But it sounds like your event should be returned as a result. Would you mind sharing its title, as well as the location you are entering in your search? 3) iCal doesn't formally support HTML (which means no links!) in an imported file. However, I believe Microsoft pioneered support for an optional field called " X-ALT-DESC" which does support HTML (and links). We recently added support for this field, so if you unsubscribe from your calendar in Google and then re-subscribe, you might get your links and other formatting. I am not sure if Google supports this extended field. 4) Yeah - I hear you on that one. It has been in progress for too long. We have tried a number of approaches (and abandoned them at various stages) to try and offer a well-integrated, cross-platform, user friendly solution. And we just haven't found a solution that we are pleased with. It is definitely something that we are always working on. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
